Mark's Alter

Mark, like most guys, has been wanting a "TV the size of a wall", but it was only a dream (still is at this point). Well, his wish sort of came true and it's pretty much Laura's fault. Okay, not entirely, but she's my baby sister so who else to blame, right?

See, it all started when we had a fabulous dinner at her house a few weeks ago and played Wii Fitness, golf, bowling, etc. on their big screen TV. Besides Mark's wall TV, we have been wanting a new entertainment center as ours was an old put together piece, but it served it's purpose and we didn't feel the need to spend money on a new one. So the story goes.

I'll cut to the chase here because the story goes on and on of how we were looking for the entertainment center FIRST to fit a 42" TV, but ended up with 46" TV because "it fits the entertainment center better." Hmm, I smell a swindle here, but he still denies it ;)

Oh and the top/middle lighted shelf section will be delivered tomorrow - that is when I will be filling the shelves with all my little goodies and rearranging the room.

I must admit, the TV is pretty cool and bigger than life. Playing Wii golf, bowling, etc. is a lot different on a bigger TV. Okay honey, you were right, now hand me the remote.

All hail the wall TV,
Rocki

You may blame me. I can take it. After all, I am WAY superior. LOL!!! Let's blame Paul; he's a guy and HE is the one that wanted a big screen TV! BUT the award goes to Mark for the slickest move with the "Let's buy the wall unit first"...nnniiiiicccce. Hook, line, and sinker :-) As for the wall unit, I will take the award on BEST DEAL! YAH BABY!!!!

I'm lucky -- our house is too small for such a monstrosity! :) That and we spend all our money on feeding our many animals!

We are BOTH so jealous of your altar!! LOL We have the same dream. We are too practical to buy a new one while the old one is still working, so every time we turn this one on, we're hoping for the worst/best! :)

Wow!! That's awesome and Mark is paying in appropriate homages I see! Of course I'm NOT showing this posting to my husband!!!

lol That picture is fabulous! I could totally handle a big screen tv like that one day. :)

Have a fabulous weekend with your new TV. :)

Peace!

I was not being sneaky in any way whatsoever! I always take a tape measure when we go shopping! Is it my fault I had already memorized the measurements of the TV's I had in mind? I don't call that sneaky! I call that prepared!

One more goal accomplished. Now to work on my Corvette!!!!!

Okay my friends - see Mark's comment above?! Now stick with me here girls, I need ALL the help I can get on the Corvette issue!!

Um honey... I love you with all my heart & soul and you know that you rock my world, you are the sunshine in my days, the stars in my nights, the cream in my coffee (soy please) and the chocolate in my chips, BUT a Corvette? Dream on buddy :)

Oh, Debi. You know I will ALWAYS back you up when it comes to knocking Mark off of his pedestal (hee hee hee...thump! OOps, are you OK Mark??), but I have to defend Mark on the Corvette...ONLY because Paul and I have a Vette fund for when the last monster, I mean CHILD, moves out. Other than that....

MARK!! REALLY? A tape measure??? I'm dissapointed in you!! You tried to trick my sister (HA! Remember when I hid under the bed?? LOL). You can just go to your room right now and...and...and....just go!

There! I have taken care of him for you, Debi :-)

Rocki Adams said...

Whoooa nelly Laura! You are a Corvette freak too? OMG! Okay, well, gee, thanks for backing me up at least. (thump, oops! You okay Laura? ;)

Seriously, a CORVETTE? What next, a gold chain, button down v-neck shirt and flip-over-combed hair for Paul while driving the vet? I gasp at what you will be wearing (ouch! I felt that Laura!)

I'd love to back you on this one Rocki but Mark, I've owned two corvettes in my life and loved them so I have to say "You go guy"! There's nothing better than cruisin' down the highway with the t-tops off listening to tunes!! (ok so the t-top thing kind of gave it away that I had mine a long time ago, but hey, a vette is a vetter is a vette!

I'm drowning here people! Sharon oh Sharon my friend - you too?! Oh gosh, I know as soon as Mark reads this I'll NEVER hear the end of it - EVER!

I could use the phrase my mom ALWAYS used with us kids whenever we wanted something: "sure, when hell freezes over" - remember that one Laura?

I know I know, I feel awful, I just can't say anything bad about vettes though. I'm sorry!

They are like driving bullets though, you might be able to work with that.

Or you could do what I do with my kids... um, what do I do with my kids!? Oh, I'm just no help with this one, ugh! :)

Sweets 'N Greets said...

HAH!! Of course I remember that phrase!!!! I also remember when Dad said, "Do I look like I'm made of money?". And my reply? "Yes. So can I have some?". HAHAHAHA!! Oh those were the days.

I defended you!! I punished Mark to his room. OOOOOO....wait....I have a better one!

Mark...you are sentenced to TWO DAYS of smelling fish cooking IN YOUR HOUSE without lighted scented candles!!!!

Yes, Sis, the Corvette. In fact, in recent months, we have been struggling with a decision since Ford has come out with the Mustang Shelby GT500 KR. What a beauty!!!! I think we should get BOTH!! I don't discriminate :-)

hehe, I have an older sister Laura that I blame for everything and oddly enough she just got a new mega sized TV on Tuesday. Well that's not really odd at all. More opposite then anything else...

Rocki if I were you I'd I'd keep a close eye on him. Who knows? He may even already be "prepared" for the vette too.

In my own defense, I have not been cruising auto trader or craigslist looking for that perfect 1957-1961 Corvette. Someday, when I'm rich and famous, I WILL have my Vette! And no honey, the scale replica I got from my boys or the plastic model you showed me earlier does not count! Believe it or not, I had an oppotunity when I was 19 to drive a 1974 but I declined. I did not want to be teased like that and wind up ruining my dream. When I finally get to sit behind the wheel of my dream car and take it for a ride, it's not going to be just long enough to go around the block! Maybe someday I'll rent one for a day and that will be enough to satisfy my wish. Maybe. I doubt it though!

Would you believe I though your husband lost something and you took the picture..Then I realized he was bowing down..I'm slow..So happy you have the t.v...enjoying life, that is what it is all about..Good for you..

OK, I have to say I'm on the fence here. I can "appreciate" the stats on a car like a Corvette. They're beautiful, and sleek and as Sharon said, like driving a bullet. Whooooooooosh! I've been a passenger in one driving on the swirly twirly mountain roads of North Carolina. What a rush! Even tho I was a wee bit frightened! LOL

My hubby Dan wants a vette in the worst way. Thats only AFTER he gets his 1970 Chevelle SS in plum crazy purple. Yep. Purple. *Le sigh* He is a car NUT -- {uh Laura, he'd be a "walnut"} BA!

Honestly, I'm more of a "cruiser" if you will. Fast is fine sometimes, but I'd much rather cruise around in a 1957 Chevy convertible with a scarf in my hair and old hollywood sunglasses. HA! For yer back country roads, I'd like a 1959 Chevy Apache truck and for fast...just plain fast...I gotta stick with my 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500.

Wow, I got a little carried away. Soooooorrrrrry!!! :o)
LOL

Don't worry, I still love all the rest of you traders ;)

Hysterical and right on the money! A bigger tv is fun I have to admit. He looks like he is bowing to the tv! Funny guy!

Thanks Heidi - oh yes, he's Mr. Funny man alright!

I have a 1959 Corvette convertible. Really, it's not as much fun as Monday night football on a large screen!

The reality is that we hardly ever take the car out of the garage and the insurance is killer.

There's something about being over 21, over 5-feet tall, and not having the back that I once did that makes a Corvette not as much fun as it used to be... say when I was 20.

But we must keep it, because, you know Rocki, it's the guy thing. Once car and man mate... it's over :)

Oh gosh! That entertainment center is awesome!!

I totally forgot to check your blog after we chatted the other day... *sigh*

But here I am! Hehee... better late than never right?

Very cool, can't wait to see pics of it all put together!
