I started out as a passenger on Mark's bike and we had a blast! We joined STAR Touring and Riding and met so many wonderful people in our travels and of course, our best friends Danny & Margi (Cobra & Tweety). Mark gave her to me (650 V-Star) when I got my license and I couldn't have been happier with her! He bought a bigger & louder bike for himself (Yamaha Road Star). Oh, and because of my real nick-name, Mark was tagged with "Bullwinkle" - which was fitting because of his silly humor :)
We no longer ride, nor am I able to ride. It's been several years for me (sniff sniff) and Mark had to stop last year due to his bad knees. No, I did not stop riding due going down or from any injury. It was due to my health. I ended up with C.F.I.D.S. / FM and it hit real hard back then.
Just a brief note on my 'crud', as I call it. I love the summer as I do especially well during this time of year - cold weather is not my friend. I have good & bad days/weeks/months and although it took a long time, I have learned to manage my life around it quite well - they don't call me "Rocki" for nothing. My nick-name actually came from one of my docs way back when - she meant it like 'Rocky Balboa' as she called me her "little fighter". No matter what, I never give up and never will. Life is too precious to not enjoy what you have right in front of you.
My girl. I miss her, but sure enjoyed every moment we had. The wind in my face, the sun on my back and freedom of life. I accomplished one of my life goals and have many more to go.
Peace & love to all - ride safe,
☼ Rocki
p.s. I don't normally just blurt out about my 'crud', but it's been a long hard road, I am proud of my fight and not afraid to say it :)

Beautiful bike. Beautiful journey, crud and all. You rock!
Great photos, Rocki! Thanks for sharing them! Sorry to hear about your FM. I've been dealing with something similar for over 20 years now, but as you've shown, we can decide we're not going to let it run our lives :)
Thank you so much for sharing this with us Rocki! I had no idea that you even had to deal with such an issue as your giving nature, humor and love for life hide it so well! You are such a treasured soul and I'll pray for more waning that waxing days ahead!!
Thanks Walk in the Woods - you're awesome yourself!
Hey Jo - thanks and healing thoughts to you my friend. Sorry you have to deal with something similar. But yes, we can turn it around into something good!
Sharon - many thanks. You always make me smile :) Like 'grizzly' said "we can decide we're not going to let it run our lives".
We just have to change our lifestyle a bit and roll with the punches. Besides, I am who I am and nothing will ever change that no matter how cruddy this 'crud' can be at times ;)
Big hugs to all of you!
Thanks for sharing, it's always inspiring and empowering to 'meet' others perfectly traveling this imperfect journey. Peace...
You look great with your bike and sound like such a strong spirit. I enjoy your blog so much each time that I visit!
Oh gosh, i'm sitting here with tears in my eyes, and a frog in my throat...
I've always wondered if you'd blog about the 'crud'... and you have. Rocki, you are my idol. I just love you.
And, I also share a passion with you about the brotherhood that comes with riding. For now, I ride on the back with Kevin, but someday I may work up the courage to learn to ride my own.
Your bike is just gorgeous hun, and I didn't know that Mark wasn't riding anymore either... *sigh*
You sure are perdy!!
Peace be with you, love.

I feel like I've just learned so much about you in that single post. you sound like an incredible woman!
Oh wow you guys! I'm lost for words from all your kind comments! I'm just a simple person really who finds great inspiration from my fellow life travelers. Life is just way too unpredictable to take everything so seriously... been there, done that you know.
Janell - you'll get on the front seat one of these days, I can feel it in my bones!
Thank you all!
